Beats now has a proper earbud lineup, spanning workout hooks to compact all-rounders, current models and discontinued ones you'll still find used. We ranked all five on the site by how good they actually are today — not by age or price.
1. Beats Powerbeats Pro 2
The best Beats earbud, full stop. The over-ear hooks deliver the most secure fit in the range, the H2 chip brings ANC and full Apple integration, and there's a heart-rate sensor plus up to 45 hours of total battery. The case is huge and the heart-rate data is only okay — but as an earbud, nothing else with a Beats logo beats it.

The smart-value pick and the most well-rounded Beats earbud — AirPods-grade features, a secure wingtip, solid ANC, and genuine Android support, usually for well under $200. It ranks second only because the Powerbeats Pro 2 are newer and more secure; for most people, the Fit Pro are the ones to buy. (Full disclosure: the Beats Fit Pro are a personal favorite of SIGNAL’s author, so weigh our enthusiasm here accordingly.)

The value and cross-platform pick. Genuinely good on both iOS and Android, with improved ANC, clear calls, and that transparent design. No wireless charging or auto-switching, but the lowest price of the current trio.

The earbuds that defined premium workout true-wireless back in 2019 — secure hooks, H1 chip, marathon battery. Now discontinued and missing ANC entirely, so they're a used-only, discount-only pick. The Powerbeats Pro 2 replaced them for good reason.

Likeable in their day and one of the first small, Android-friendly Beats buds — but discontinued in 2024, and the Studio Buds + do everything they did, better. Last place by default, worth it only very cheap and used.
